The Dewey Book Club
We’re happy to announce the beginning of our new group: Dewey Nonfiction Book Club. Each month we’ll focus on one section of the library’s non-fiction collection, from the 000s to the 900s. In the Dewey Decimal System, non-fiction books are organized according to their main subject heading. There are 10 classes, and each is further broken down into more specific headings. After a brief examination of that month’s Dewey Decimal section, we’ll discuss the featured title for the month. The meetings will be facilitated by Library Director Sarah Lester. At our first meeting on October 1st, we’ll delve into the 000s; the category for Generalities, with a discussion of The Reading Promise: My Father and the Books We Shared by Alice Ozma, Call # 028.9. Check for book availability at the Main Library Information Desk or call 973-762-1622 ext. 5022
The Dewey Book Club will meet the first Monday of each month at 7pm. It is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. See the Dewey Book Club Flyer for a complete list of dates and titles. You can also read an interview with Sarah about the book club.
