An Undersung Collection…

If music be the food of love, play on, give me excess of it…

Ah, who could say it better than Shakespeare? Our music tastes may vary widely, but most of us enjoy or appreciate some type of music. We all have our patterns of listening in the same way we all have our patterns of reading. I don’t want to read the same genres of books on vacation as I do on a regular weeknight, and I don’t necessarily listen to the same music, either. I love listening to classical music while I cook. At the first hint of Spring, I roll down my car window and turn the volume up a little too loudly  on my classic rock favorites. When I exercise, it’s top 40 pop all the way, and when I’ve got a few moments to myself, I try something new.

And, yes, I know we all have our playlists and genies and websites that mix all our favorites into one big genre-fest, but there’s still something about the cd. It’s nice to hear the songs in succession as recorded by an artist, band or orchestra. That’s why we try to represent your varied and well-versed tastes with a collection of over 800 cds, available for you to borrow for two weeks and listen to at your leisure. All you need is your library card.
