Reserves, Interlibrary Loans and Book Suggestions

Books may be recommended or reserved in person at our Information Desk, or by using our online catalog. If the Library owns the book, find the book in the catalog, bring up the full record, and click the button at the top right that says "request".  If the library does not own the book, you may request it by filling out our "Recommend a Book to Purchase"  form.

Interlibrary loan requests may also be made in person or online, courtesy of a system provided by the N.J. State Library.

Reference Services maple leaf

Professional librarians are available at all times to aid you in finding appropriate reading and research materials, and to help you make full use of your library.  We are also happy to answer your questions via e-mail.

Interactive search assistance on the web is also available 24 hours a day from live librarians at QandANJ, a service of the NJ Library Network.

Regional Services

Limited borrowing privileges are available at most other Essex County libraries when you use a Reciprocal Borrowing Libraries (ReBL) card.  Apply for your ReBL card at any circulation desk.

Maplewood Memorial Library's membership in the Eastern NJ Regional Library Cooperative (Infolink) and JerseyCat, the computerized statewide union catalog, makes the resources of many other collections available to you.  Ask for details.

Notary Service

Notary service is available at the Main Library during regular business hours.  Please call ahead to make sure the Notary is available.  There is a charge of $2.50 per signature.

Meeting Rooms

Meeting rooms are available for use by the community.  The Library does not advocate or endorse the viewpoints of any group using the Library's meeting rooms.
