The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
This book is about an Indian boy named Junior who lives on a reservation. He decides to go to an all white High School and his best friend Rowdy decides not to be his friend anymore. The important characters are Junior, Rowdy, Penelope, Mr. P, Roger, Junior’s Mom, Dad, Grandma and sister, Eugene. Also important are coach and Gordy.
I like the title of the book because once you start reading it you understand what the book is about.
My favorite character in the book is Junior because he is funny and I understand him more than any of the other characters. If I could smack a character in the book it would be Rowdy (although he’d most likely punch me to death). I would also smack Roger because he was a racist in the beginning. And Penelope because she was mean to Junior at first. I would recommend this book to a friend because it is funny and really pulls you in. The book gets 5 out of 5 stars!
