Art & Music Reception: Lorena Vera & Mary Franklin

Vera and Franklin

Main Library – Saturday, Jan. 12 @ 3-4 pm. Our January exhibit is a two-person show featuring teacher Lorena Vera (acrylic, pastel, oil and watercolor) and student Mary Franklin (watercolor, acrylic, oil & collage). The artists will speak at 3:20. Live music will be provided by Steve Jones.

LORENA VERA – Born in Chile, Lorena Vera is a New Jersey based artist. Lorena became a painter as a form of expression and companionship influenced by her travels. After graduating with a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of Chile, Lorena decided to expand her career in New York City, continuing her studies at the School of Visual Arts. Her work consists of portraits of animals and people.

MARY FRANKLIN – Mary Franklin has been creating for many years. She took up painting a little over five years ago, accomplishing beautiful creations using mediums such as watercolor, acrylics and inks. This exhibition will be the first of many exhibition where Mary will show more than two pieces to the public. Mary is a firm believer that art heals. Her motto: Everyone should have the opportunity to experience art!
