Explore What’s New at the Newark Museum with Curator of American Art, Tricia Laughlin Bloom


Main Library – Saturday Oct. 29 at 2:00 pm. The Newark Museum has collected African-American art since 1929, and that collection has grown to more than 360 works of art.  Modern Heroics: 75 Years of African-American Expressionism at the Newark Museum presents highlights from this distinguished collection, bringing together painting and sculpture by 24 modern and contemporary African-American artists, spanning from Beauford Delaney to Mickalene Thomas. 

Also on view: the newly reinstalled Native American galleries. Learn about this exciting reinstallation, Native Artists of North America, which includes some 100 rarely exhibited works from the Arts of the Americas collection.
