Read Around the World: Colombia

Main Library – Wednesday, Feb. 8 @ 7:00 pm. This month’s title is Girls of Riyadh by Rajaa Alsanea. Alsanea relates the personal struggles of four young upper-class women offering Westerners an unprecedented glimpse into a society often veiled from view. Living in restrictive Riyadh but traveling all over the globe, these modern Saudi women literally and figuratively shed traditional garb as they search for love, fulfillment, and their place somewhere in between Western society and their Islamic home.

Explore thought-provoking fiction from around the globe. Our Read Around the World book club meets once a month to discuss titles from foreign locales.  All titles are available from Maplewood Library or through the BCCLS consortium.
