Wednesday, March 8th @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Main Library  – Explore thought-provoking fiction from around the globe.  This month’s title is Death by Water: a Novel by Kenzaburō Ōe. In Death by Water, Ōe’s protagonist (and literary alter ego) returns to his hometown village in search of a red suitcase fabled to hold documents revealing the details of his father’s death during World War II: details that will serve as the foundation for his new, and final, novel.

Our Read Around the World book club meets once a month to discuss titles from foreign locales.  All titles are available from Maplewood Library or through the BCCLS consortium.
