Afterhours Party with 8 Bit

The Hilton Branch will open afterhours for teens! Free music, free food, free fun!  Rock band 8 Bit—four young rockers from Columbia High School will play original songs and indie/alternative covers.

Teen Summer Reading Club

Join  OWN the NIGHT, the teen summer reading club. The club starts June 18 and runs until Aug. 10.  You can get prizes for reading and writing book reviews!  Come in and sign up at the Main Library or the Hilton Branch…. or click for the program brochure .  Read 10 hours get a prize – read 10 more hours get another prize!  You can also click here for a book review form.

 Write a book review, bring it to the Main Library or Hilton Branch, and get a prize!  There are also many programs this summer – check out the Teen Events page.  Sign up at the program location.  No registration required for Paranormal Investigating: capturing Ghosts’ Pictures and Video, Tech Zone, or Afterhours Party with 8 Bit.

Ghost Hunting 101

Join L’Aura Hladik (“The Ghostchick”), founder and director of the NJ Ghost Hunters’ Society, the largest paranormal investigating organization in New Jersey, as she explains how we can see and hear actual ghosts using everyday technology.  Main Library – Grades 6 & up.

Hilton Origami for Beginners

Hilton Branch – Try your hand at the traditional Japanese art of paper folding.  Teacher Carol Buchanan will lead us in making some simple, colorful origami creations for ourselves and to give as gifts.  Starts promptly at 6:30 p.m.  Beginners only please!  Free and open to the public.  No registration needed.

Teen Movies @ Main

Main Library – XMen: First Class  Come to the Main Library and hang out with your friends in the A/C, watch a movie and enjoy free refreshments.  The movie is rated PG-13.  You must be 13 years-old to attend.

Teens Read to Kids

Join other teen volunteers to read a picture book to kids ages 4 to 9. Teens arrive at 3:30 to prepare for a 4:00 storytime.

Undercover Scavenger Hunt

Main Library – Come to the library after hours for a scavenger hunt to find info on famous spies, detectives and undercover agents (both real and fictional).    There will be other activities, prizes and refreshments.
