The Best Books of …

The reviews are in and the lists are out! Stephen King’s 11/22/63 and The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides topped several lists for fiction, while Tina Fey’s Bossypants and Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand ran neck and neck at the top of many nonfiction lists.

I love a good list, and I look forward to these year-enders to learn what readers have enjoyed this year and to see what I might have missed. But 2011 is particularly exciting because here at Maplewood Memorial Library we have our readers’ blog to provide a fresh way to share as a community our favorite titles of the year.

So, here is a list of lists of the year’s best books. Some lists aren’t yet published (and I thought I was late!), so we’ll be adding more throughout the week. But if you have a moment, please submit a comment sharing your favorite book(s) of the year. Then we’ll share them with everyone here. We’ll also be asking staffers to share their favorite reads and post them for you to see. Sound good?
