Baby Racoons

Maplewood Library is accepting donations for South Mountain Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. The center, located here in town, is a charitable organization dedicated to the preservation of native wildlife through public education, rehabilitation and release.  Volunteers give injured and orphaned wildlife a second chance to live out their natural, wild lives. The following items are in peak demand in the spring, when wildlife babies are being born:

  • Baby receiving blankets (new or gently used)
  • Cotton diapers (new or gently used)
  • Towels
  • Fleece bedding
  • Flannel sheets and pillowcases
  • Puppy pads
  • Pureed baby food (fruit/veggie/meat)
  • Heating pads
  • Paper towels
  • Household bleach
  • Original Dawn dishwashing liquid
  • Laundry detergent
  • Cuddly plush toys
  • Balls and similar dog-safe chew toys

Donations are being collected at Maplewood Main Library, 51 Baker St., during March.
