Museum Pass Program

Museum Pass Program

Museum Pass is a new program that lets Maplewood Library patrons visit 3 area museums for free!

The Friends of the Library has funded this program, which includes passes for The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Morris Museum and The Montclair Art Museum.  Passes may be borrowed by adult cardholders with outstanding fines of less than $10. (They are not available to REBL or youth borrowers.)

Passes are checked out from the Main Library Circulation Desk, and must be returned to the desk in person (not in the book drop). They may be kept for 7 days and cannot be renewed or reserved. One pass per family per month.  When checking out a pass, you will sign a sheet agreeing to the Museum  Pass rules.

These passes make it affordable for a family to enjoy a day of fun at an area museum.

The Nooks Are Here!

The Nooks Are Here!

Barnes & Noble Nook Color e-readers are now available to our patrons! Thanks to generous funding from the Friends of the Maplewood Library, six Nooks for adults – four at the Main Library and two at the Hilton Branch – are preloaded with current fiction, nonfiction, young adult and children’s titles.  Adult patrons will be asked to sign a user agreement and leave a refundable $20.00 deposit. You may borrow a Nook for two weeks. We’ve included instructions and a tutorial in case you’re hesitant!

The Children’s Room is offering Color Nooks for kids. Loaded with interactive stories (much like our story computers), these Nooks may only be used in the Library. Two Color Nooks each for Main Library and Hilton Branch Children’s Rooms were purchased with a generous grant from the Kiwanis Club.
