Demolition Update

The library renovation work is well underway with large portions of demolition already completed. In preparation for the next more select demolition phase, a previously unidentified suspect material was noted embedded within the outer building envelope. This material was tested and determined to be asbestos-containing. While characterized as “non-friable” and of no immediate health concern; work was temporarily halted in order to allow a licensed asbestos abatement contractor time to safely remove (abate) these areas prior to the renovation continuation. Over the next few weeks, activities on-site will reflect this added scope.
