Windows are being installed in the new library! The site is busy with electricians, roofers and window installers.  This is an exciting way to end 2023 and a very positive beginning to 2024.

The windows in our new building will be fritted. Frit patterns are made up of small particles of ceramic, porcelain, or glass that are fused to the surface of the window.

The Maplewood Memorial Library Foundation received an EBSCO Solar Grant to pay for the installation of a solar array. The $100,000 grant offsets the cost of installing solar panels and allows the new library to reduce its electricity expenditures.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of the Maplewood Memorial Library that the contract, in the amount of $403,278.37, for the Base Bid and Alternates 1, 2 and 3 for Audiovisual Systems for the Maplewood Memorial Library Construction Project be awarded to Commercial Technology Contractors, Inc.

The library renovation work is well underway with large portions of demolition already completed. In preparation for the next more select demolition phase, a previously unidentified suspect material was noted embedded within the outer building envelope

The contractors have started deconstructing the roof of the Maplewood Memorial Library. This is being done carefully according to Leed-certified sustainability specifications.
