November is International Games Month
International games month is a celebration of gaming in public libraries around the world. This celebration is for games of all kinds : board games, video games, card games, tabletop RPGs, sports, and more! For all gamers out there, here are some library resources you might enjoy:
Video Games
Did you know that you can borrow video games at the Maplewood Library and at other libraries in the BCCLS consortium? Click here to search the catalog for video games. We’d love your recommendations for video games to add to the Maplewood Library’s teen collection. Suggest one or more games here!

Teens and Tweens Chess Group
All skill levels are welcome! This fall, the Teens and Tweens Chess Group meets on the following dates, every other Thursday from 5-6 in the Children’s Program Room on the first floor skill levels are welcome!:
December 18 (last meeting of 2025)
Borrow Board Games
To borrow a board game for in-library use, please visit the Teen Service Desk in the Teen Room on the second floor. Games can only be borrowed if the desk is attended, and they must be played in the Teen Room or on the Forum steps. You can sign out any of the following games for an hour:
Playing cards
Uno
Chess
Checkers
Chinese checkers
Backgammon
Mancala
Books on Gaming
